- You can find a short introduction to the collaborative circular design mission of Ikego on the about page.
- How the universal design system works – the 30mm grid and more – is explained here.
- How to submit contributions to the systems open catalog is explained here.
- Wonder about IP? The system is open: all individual parts can be used by anyone, for any purpose, free of charge. But the sets built from them (the products) can be closed your exclusive intellectual property. It stays your design, for your portfolio and for your exclusive commercial use. Learn more.
- Ikego is about a public collaborative design process. You build on the work of others and enable them to build on yours. It is collaborative research, and research on collaboration. It’s not about becoming an individualistic design genius. It’s about exploring a collaborative future of design that will make design truly sustainable. Learn more.

- To understand the current state of the project – we are in a research process – take a look at the set catalog and the first 150 parts. You’ll help to improve the system and make it more powerful. You’ll learn a lot.

How do I use this for my semester project? What do I tell my professor? Is there support?

- Just start your main semester project as usual. Just with the goal of using the open Ikego system for this: try to utilize multipurpose parts and add any new ones you find missing. Expand the system. Get your professor on board early and try to get as much support as possible.
- Reach out to us. Experienced designers from the Ikego network offer regular calls to support you. You’ll get advice, ideas, and opportunities from a second source.
- Follow your discoveries and insights, solve problems, and more. If you happen to stray from the IKEGO path along the way, no problem. Your semester learning experience is what matters most.
- If you end up creating an Ikego design, we invite you to allow us to share it in the public connected catalog here on this page. We’ll link to your portfolio. You’ll officially be an Ikego designer! This comes with a network and probably interesting future job and income prospects, because you are already experienced in this circular system.
